On what would have been David Bowie’s 77th birthday, Paris city council officially inaugurated Rue David Bowie, a street located next to Austerlitz Station in the 13th arrondissement. The iconic musician, celebrated for his significant contributions to rock music and pop culture, passed away in 2016 at the age of 69 after an 18-month battle with cancer.

The inauguration ceremony took place on January 8, 2024, and a plaque was unveiled to commemorate the occasion. Fans of Bowie gathered at the event, expressing their emotions and reflecting on the artist’s profound impact on their lives. Rue David Bowie is a tribute to the legendary musician, recognizing his influence and artistic legacy.
