WTM Latin America 2024 has embraced the theme “The Future Is Open. Be The Change,” incorporating it into various aspects of the event, including a notable feature: the Digital Influencers’ Speed Networking session. This session is tailored for digital influencers and content creators, offering a platform for interaction and collaboration.
Taking place on April 17, during the event’s culmination from 3 to 4 p.m., the session will be held in the Trends Theatre. This venue serves as a hub for insightful presentations, engaging lectures, and practical workshops exploring the latest trends in different sectors of the travel industry throughout the three-day event.
Virgínia Marques, the Communications Manager at WTM Latin America, highlights the increasing role of the digital sphere in shaping consumer behaviors within the industry. She emphasizes the session’s objective to showcase the vital contribution of digital professionals in launching and promoting new products, services, and destinations in the tourism sector. The upcoming session aims to facilitate meaningful interactions among digital influencers, exhibitors, and travel industry professionals.
The session’s format will follow previous iterations, with exhibitors and travel professionals engaging in 10-minute discussions with influencers or digital content creators over the course of an hour. This setup fosters dynamic exchanges, enabling participants to connect with various influencers or content creators aligned with their brand’s interests.
This year’s Digital Influencers’ Speed Networking event will be conducted in partnership with the Brazilian Travel Blogs Association (ABBV). ABBV will assist in curating and selecting 20 out of the 30 participants, categorizing them into 13 distinct areas, including Afrotourism, Cultural and Historical Tourism, Diversity and Inclusion, Lifestyle and Fashion, Family and Pet Travel, Culinary Tourism, LGBTQIA+ Tourism, Women’s Travel, Accessible Tourism, Adventure Travel, Luxury Travel, Eco-friendly and Sustainable Tourism, and Budget Travel.
Luciano Palumbo, the head of ABBV, praises this initiative as an excellent opportunity for industry professionals to engage with the digital realm in a structured and beneficial manner.
“Speed Networking serves as the starting point for developing outstanding strategies based on existing cases or new proposals between content producers, companies, and travel destinations. It is important to note that the space is not intended for individual classes or mentoring but rather for fostering synergies between companies seeking digital advertising and promotion campaigns,” Palumbo explains.
Interested participants have until February 19 to register, with the announcement of selected applicants scheduled for March 25.
