Ayodhya’s Ram Janmabhoomi Temple achieved a significant milestone with the installation of the first ‘swarn dwar’ (golden gate) on Tuesday. The unveiling of a picture featuring the intricate design of the golden gate marked this historic occasion, and the image quickly circulated across various social media platforms.
According to reports, the upcoming three days will witness the installation of a total of 13 golden doors, including the vast gate of the sanctum sanctorum, in the temple. The recently revealed image of the golden gate showcases two elephants in a welcoming posture on the central panel. The upper part of the gate displays a palace-like structure with two servants standing respectfully with folded hands, while the lower section exhibits beautiful artworks inscribed in the four squares.
The Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust, overseeing the temple construction, shared a series of pictures, highlighting the night-time illumination of the temple. Among these images, significant attention was given to the sculpture of Jatayu, a prominent character in the Ramayana, along with intricately carved figures of deities, gods, and goddesses adorning the pillars and walls.
The Ram Mandir, constructed in the traditional Nagara style, stands as a three-storied shrine with dimensions of 380 ft in length (east-west direction), 250 ft in width, and 161 ft in height. With 392 pillars and 44 doors, the temple includes five mandaps or halls – Nritya Mandap, Rang Mandap, Sabha Mandap, Prarthna Mandap, and Kirtan Mandap.
Preparations are underway for the ‘pran-prathistha’ ceremony of Ram Lalla, scheduled to take place in the newly built temple on January 22. The entrance gate of the temple is adorned with idols of elephants, lions, Lord Hanuman, and Garuda, the ‘vahana’ of Lord Vishnu.
The highly anticipated inauguration on January 22 will witness the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is scheduled to attend the ceremony and perform rituals in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Temple around 12:15 PM. Invitations have been extended to more than 7,000 guests, including 3,000 VVIPs comprising priests, donors, various politicians, marking this historic event with widespread participation.
