A British oil tanker in the Gulf of Aden, the Marlin Luanda, became engulfed in flames on Friday after a missile attack by Yemen’s Houthi rebels. The attack highlights the escalating tensions in the region and raises concerns about the wider security of this crucial shipping route.
Houthi militants claimed responsibility, citing “American-British aggression” against Yemen and their support for Palestinians battling Israel in Gaza. This follows earlier attempts to target US warships using anti-ship missiles.
